Abstract
Since 2015, under a project commissioned by Gifu Prefecture, the Gifu Prefectural Pharmacists Association has conducted pharmacist training sessions in home medical technology in collaboration with Gifu Pharmaceutical University. These training sessions comprised 4 components:“Vital Sign”“, Pressure ulcer treatment”“, Aseptic preparation”, and“HbA1c measurement”, with half a day’s training time allocated for each component, spanning a total of 2 days. Each course session was limited to 30 people. Lectures were conducted by experts from their respective fields, and senior(in their 4th‒6th year)pharmacy students, who had undertaken prior training, joined the staff. After training, the participant’s satisfaction level for the training was very high, where all items in all courses were rated on a 5‒level scale, with 4 levels or more accounting for over 88%. Across 3 years, a total of 12 university students participated as staff. All students indicated that their degree of understanding after training was deeper than that prior to it. The practical utility of these training sessions was confirmed by numerous case study applications of training procedures in a clinical setting.
