椎体骨折は国内有病率が高く，外傷や症状がない場合もあり気づきにくい骨折である。記者説明会では，宮腰尚久氏（秋田大学大学院整形外科学講座）がロコモティブシンドロームと椎体骨折との関連や予防法について解説した。本稿ではその概要を紹介する。
