Abstract
Although it is thought that glycyrrhetinic acid, an anti︱inflammatory compound, has anti︱allergic effects, there is not enough evidence. Here, we investigated the effects of glycyrrhetinic acid on IgE︱mediated triphasic ear edema in mice mimicking human atopic symptoms. As a result, glycyrrhetinic acid tended to inhibit the ear swelling in the immediate phase and attenuated significantly puffinesses in the late︱and the very late︱phases. Our results suggest glycyrrhetinic acid is useful to the therapy for patients with atopic dermatitis.
