Abstract
Objectives The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of the bubble gum training on oral function in kindergarten children with easy measurement method. Methods Fifty-six children, aged 5-6 years, received 10 minutes of bubble gum training daily for 70 days. The five oral functions(listed below)were measured before and after the intervention period.・Blow-back test・Upper lip capture test・Whistle test・Color-changeable chewing gum test・Bubble gum inflation test Results After 70 days of training, the upper lip capture test, masticatory performance evaluation using chewing check gum, and the bubble gum inflation test showed significant improvement compared to before training. Conclusions The results suggest that bubble gum training for children effectively improves tongue and lip dexterity and oral function(. ID: UMIN000048946)(Jpn Pharmacol Ther 2023;51:581-6)
