Background:Cancer is the largest cause of death in Japan, but the recent development of treatment technologies has improved the survival rate and then increased the interest in quality of life(QoL)in patients with cancers. Our aim was to describe the distribution of QoLs among 10 types of cancers using EQ‒5D‒5L. Methods:This is a retrospective observational study on the basis of the Medilead Healthcare Panel(MHP)database, one of the largest database based on the web‒based questionnaire survey of the self‒reported disease condition and burden. We identified patients who experienced at least 1 in‒ or outpatient visit for the treatment of cancers in the past 1 year. The primary endpoint was EQ‒5D‒5L score. Results:A total of 231, 294, 475, 72, 64, 109, 729, 52, 211, and 566 patients were extracted for lung, gastric, colon, liver, pancreas, kidney, breast, ovarian, uterine, or prostate cancer, respectively. Mean age was ranged from 44.7 years in patients with uterine cancer to 69.9 years in those with prostate cancer. The proportion of stage Ⅳ was highest in patients with pancreatic cancer(37.5%). The mean of EQ‒5D‒5L scores was highest in patients with gastric cancer(0.895)and lowest in those with uterine cancer(0.831). The proportion of patients with any problem of anxiety/depression was higher in patients with breast, ovarian, or uterine cancer than patients with other cancers. Conclusions:This report showed the EQ‒5D‒5L scores of patients requiring in‒ or outpatient visits for any of the 10 types of cancers.

The tap water supplied to Fukaya City is sourced from groundwater and rivers. In this study, we investigated the mineral concentration and hardness of tap water in seven areas of Fukaya City. The following results were obtained;1)The concentrations of calcium and magnesium in tap water sourced from groundwater tended to be higher than those sourced from rivers;2)The hardness of tap water in Fukaya was moderately soft or hard, and greatly varied by area. These results are expected to be used for a more accurate understanding of mineral intake.
