Background:The construction of the Person‒Reported Outcomes Database(PRO‒DB), which collects person‒reported outcomes such as health‒related quality of life (HR‒QOL)and productivity loss across various diseases, including healthy individuals, is currently underway. The first survey was conducted in June 2024. Objective:To describe the demographic characteristics, QOL, productivity loss, health literacy, and the prevalence of diseases and symptoms among the general population registered in PRO‒DB in Japan. Methods:Demographic characteristics, QOL scores(EuroQol 5‒Dimension 5‒Level), productivity loss(Work Productivity and Activity Impairment), and health literacy( European Health Literacy Survey Questionnaire, 47 items)were summarized using descriptive statistics among the general Japanese population registered in PRO‒DB. Results:The gender and regional distribution of the participants was similar to that of the Japanese population aged 18 and above. The majority of participants were aged between 30 and 70 years, with fewer participants under 30(young adults)and over 70 (elderly). The overall QOL score for the entire sample was 0.91±0.15, and the overall work impairment among workers was 21.8±27.5. The comprehensive health literacy score was 29.2±9.6. In disease‒specific QOL comparisons, depression(0.77±0.17), stomach cancer(0.71±0.27), and lung cancer(0.79±0.23)had lower QOL scores compared to other diseases. Conclusion:Using data from PRO‒DB, it is possible to evaluate QOL and productivity loss for various diseases and symptoms, and explore factors associated with these outcomes. However, it is essential to understand the characteristics of PRO‒DB registrants when utilizing the data.
